Jenny Cheong Wellington

Jenny Cheong Wellington is a multi-talented musician who is a pianist, a cellist, and a conductor. Mrs. Wellington is the recipient of the Yo-Yo Ma Scholarship and Music Scholarship from Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra as a cellist. Jenny also received an Excellent Piano Performance Award at the piano competition provided by the Korean National Music Education in Seoul, Korea when she was 10 years old.

Mrs. Wellington has been the pianist at various churches since 14 years old and directed the choir in all ages until today. Jenny's highlights include Children's Choir at St. Mark and Calvary Anglican Church; Women's Choir at Bethany Korean Presbyterian Church; and senior and children's choir at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Islington. Jenny is currently the conductor of Vocal Ensemble and Concert Coordinator at St. John's Anglican Church, Willowdale.

Mrs. Wellington is quite fond of both vocal and instrumental music and also conducts Global Youth Leaders Orchestra. These opportunities have been very enjoyable for Jenny to work with a variety of age groups, genders, and musical abilities. Jenny's primary conducting teachers include Alexis Hauser, John Tuttle, Dr. Lori-Anne Dolloff, and Dr. Apfelstadt.

Jenny Cheong Wellington completed Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance at McGill University and has three Master degrees: Master of Divinity at University of Toronto (U of T), Wycliffe College; Master of Theological Studies in Church Music specialized in organ and choral conducting at U of T, Trinity College with John Tuttle; and Master of Music in Cello Performance at the U of T, Faculty of Music. Jenny is currently continuing her studies in Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello Performance at U of T, Faculty of Music with Shauna Rolston.
